Business Systems Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst oversees the implementation, deployment, and utilization of key marketing technology platforms, including of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and Email Service Providers (ESPs). Working with a cross-functional team of technical stakeholders, project management and solutions architects, the Business Systems Analyst supports in translating customer needs and business goals into software requirements and serves as a liaison between key business stakeholders and product and technology teams. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst is the lead on documenting business requirements for ESP and CDP deployments and leads systems design and recommendations for platform deployment.

Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in marketing technology implementation, utilization and deployment, with recent work in either ESP or CDP implementations. This person should be highly competent technically, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, and confident in deadline-driven project delivery. A background in consulting or consultative software implementation is highly desired. Specific work experiences that are aligned with this role include:

  • Designing and documenting business processes and workflows based on business needs
  • Developing business requirements for large-scale software implementations and migration
  • Gathering stakeholder input and assembling into normalize, communicable formats
  • Use-case discover and development of requirements for use-case implementation
  • Day to day client interaction and client management
  • Quality assurance of business requirements documentation
  • Gap analysis of business requirements and chosen software applications
  • ESP or CDP platform management
  • Risk assessment in platform migration and implementation
  • Researching and proposing cost effective technical solutions to address business challenges such as improvement of development, processes, and governance standards.

As an early stage, growth company we need our team to be able to perform a wide range of roles. As such, there are some experiences that would really differentiate the ideal candidate:

  • Direct experience in an ESP or CDP implementation or migration
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum project methodology
  • Experience working with marketing technology APIs
  • Familiarity with front-end tagging and scripting

Additionally, since we are spread between locations and travel frequently, candidates must be comfortable in a high-collaboration virtual environment. Actable has clear guidelines for our expectations in this area. Note, this position is located in New York but another Eastern Time Zone city may be suitable alternatives for the right candidate.
