We combine expert consulting with proprietary technology, empowering our clients to rapidly implement advanced segmentation, predictive modeling, and real-time insights. Our results-oriented culture is built on a diverse set of skills possessed by a collaborative and forward-looking team who are motivated to deliver solutions to tough problems, working with our clients to achieve new customer analytics milestones.

We’re looking for passionate, collaborative individuals eager to join our growing team. Actable is headquartered in New York City, with offices in Portland, OR, and Denver, CO. For this role we are open to New York based or remote Eastern time zone candidates in the U.S.

About Actable

Actable is a customer analytics and intelligence services firm that helps brands turn first-party customer data into actionable insights and measurable business outcomes using our proprietary Intelligence Factory framework. We partner closely with clients to design, build, and operate Customer Intelligence Hubs that power analytics, insights, and activation across the organization.

Role Summary

The Production Support Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and ensuring the reliability of Actable’s Customer Intelligence Hubs and underlying Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data environment, with a strong focus on BigQuery. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the health of production analytics systems, responding to incidents, and coordinating resolution across data engineering, solutions delivery, and analytics teams.

This person will act as an operational bridge between technical teams and client-facing stakeholders, helping ensure that customer data environments are stable and delivering expected outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Production Monitoring & Incident Response

  • System Monitoring: Track the health of data pipelines, BigQuery jobs, and reporting layers to ensure data freshness.
  • Incident Response: Respond to automated alerts and client-reported issues. You will perform initial triage, troubleshoot using SQL and Python, and coordinate with engineers for complex fixes.
  • Communication: Provide clear, professional, and proactive updates to North American stakeholders during service disruptions. You must be able to translate “tech-speak” into business impact.
  • Operational Bridge: Own the support ticket lifecycle, documenting resolutions and helping build the “runbook” for this new department.
  • On-Call Support: Maintain 24/7 availability for rare, severe outages (SEV 1 emergencies) to ensure business continuity.

Schedule & Location

  • Remote: US-Based.
  • Core Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST (to provide early-market coverage for our East Coast and global clients).
  • Availability: Includes an on-call rotation for critical system failures.

Customer Intelligence Hub Support

  • Support the day-to-day operation of client Customer Intelligence Hubs, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Partner with Solutions Delivery and Customer Success teams to investigate and resolve client-reported issues related to analytics outputs, data freshness, or access.
  • Assist with production deployments, changes, and enhancements that impact client intelligence hubs.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between data engineering, analytics, cloud infrastructure, and client teams during incidents or service disruptions.
  • Communicate status updates, timelines, and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Reliability

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of runbooks, monitoring standards, SLAs, and escalation paths for production systems.
  • Identify recurring issues and collaborate with engineering teams to drive long-term fixes and reduce operational toil.
  • Recommend and support automation efforts to improve system observability and reliability.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain clear documentation for supported systems, workflows, and common troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer related to production support practices and environments.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1+ years of experience working within or alongside a data engineering or technical team.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on comfort with SQL, Python, and Google Cloud (specifically BigQuery).
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving Background: We value “front-line” experience. If you have worked in high-pressure environments—such as customer support, retail, call centers, or hospitality (wait staff)—and have since pivoted to data, we want to hear from you.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting analytics platforms, data warehouses, or customer data platforms.
  • A degree or certification in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working in consulting or client-services environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and ticketing tools.

What Success Looks Like

  • Data Warehouse and BigQuery environments are proactively monitored and reliably supported.
  • Production issues are identified early, resolved efficiently, and clearly communicated.
  • Operational processes improve over time, resulting in fewer incidents and smoother client experiences.
  • Internal teams and clients trust the stability and responsiveness of Actable’s production environments.

Growth Track

After 1 year of successful service in this role, you will be eligible for a formal performance evaluation for promotion into alternative growth tracks such as Data Engineering or DataOps Engineering Management, depending on your career interests and performance.
