The Director of Marketing Technology Strategy is a leadership role, responsible for guiding and shaping our fast-growing marketing technology strategy practice.  This role focuses on advancing a strategy practice that supports our clients by identifying and prioritizing opportunities for improving their technology maturity, digital transformation, systems selection, solution design, change management and analytics capabilities. This position is responsible for acting as a trusted advisor to clients for strategic and technical guidance. 

The practice you will lead drives the technical discovery of the MarTech ecosystem to identify high-level technology capabilities and integration processes to be implemented, as well as setting the principles and patterns to guide technology implementation in collaboration with the clients IT organization and our specialist solutions architects.   

Your team’s engagements help our clients understand: 

  • How their current state capabilities align to industry best practices, competitors, and their business need 
  • What technology initiatives and functionality will enable them to achieve their business goals, while crafting the vision of their future state from an enabling capability perspective 
  • How to implement technology capabilities over time, detailing business benefits and value, while improving customer experience program performance 

You must be able to: 

  • Identify gaps and opportunities through business analysis and uncover client needs to reach their business objectives. 
  • Analyze and assess possible technologies and vendors, to guide our clients in technology selection processes  
  • Communicate a broad marketing technology point of view to an executive-level audience. 
  • Provide expertise, vendor knowledge, and industry best practices across marketing technology components such as: 

Customer Data Platform, Cloud Data Warehouse, Data Collection, Data Integration and Activation, Data Collaboration, Machine learning, Decision Management, Business Intelligence 


Your work will also include scoping the delivery of technology strategies for our clients, while collaborating with our Solutions and Customer Success teams to sell solutions and services across our consulting practices (Data, Engineering, Data Science, Customer Analytics, Platform Architecture and Deployment). In this pre-sales context, your role will be showcasing how specific technologies would enable the business to drive value for the brand by delivering more personalized customer journey and experiences. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Lead Actable’s Technology Strategy  team 
  • Manage multi-stream engagement teams and/or multiple client delivery projects 
  • Support engagement team with advising senior executives on strategic realignment initiatives by developing business models, strategies, and action plans 
  • Facilitate client’s management decision making process and guide stakeholders through implementation of industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies  
  • Manage design of holistic solutions to transform organizational structures, business processes, and technology platforms 
  • Conduct discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and redesign on major business processes  
  • Closely work with technology partners to design and implement software solutions and deploy process automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and customer analytics.  
  • Support research and identification of new technology capabilities to resolve client challenges  
  • Manage business development initiatives and client proposal development process 
  • Manage up to executives on overall account health and strategic priorities 
  • Support development of thought leadership materials 
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and hands-on training to staff 
  • Provide verbal and written performance feedback and acts as a career advisor 
  • Promote collaboration, teamwork, and Actable’s core values 


Required Experience 

Our candidate is a well-rounded professional with explicit experience in MarTech. This person should be well exposed to the Martech landscape and be comfortable owning a client conversation on the topic. This person has experience in digital marketing services, with agency experience highly desired, and is comfortable finding a path to hit goals through both short-term projects and longer-term agency retainers. Specifically, desirable experience includes: 

  • 5+ years of work experience within the space of technology, data, and customer experience, either at a consultancy, an agency, technology vendor or client-side. 
  • A master’s degree in business or technology 
  • Expertise in advising on or implementing technology in a consulting role (either in agency or internal) 
  • Familiarity with the processes and artifacts around enterprise architecture 
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience, including experience in management consulting and/or client facing engagement delivery, required 
  • An interest in expanding your knowledge. We want you to broaden your expertise and never stop learning 
  • A desire to push at the frontier of digital experience technology
